I want to change up my style from what I usually wear.

 

Changing up your wardrobe is a great idea that may involve a lot of things. For starters I would like to congratulate you on even exploring the idea of a wardrobe change. For most people changing their wardrobe is a really uncomfortable idea. But, changing your wardrobe is a great way to get noticed with your friends and get uplifting comments.

 

The first steps that I suggest when trying to change your wardrobe is to get little things that can be matched with just about anything. I would first suggest raw solid color and neutral color clothing. By “raw solid colors” I mean, don’t go out and get aquamarine, pearl, or chartreuse; just go out and get blue, white, or green. And by neutral colors, I mean colors that can go with anything like black, white, tan, and gray.  

 

Next I suggest that things you buy are things that you can mix and match with a variety of outfits. For example: tank tops, beaters, camisoles, crew necks, skirts, and spandex pants.

 

Now, when choosing to try an open back dress as part of your wardrobe change, there is one thing to keep in mind, SHAPE-WARE. Shape-ware can really make you look stunning in an open back dress. Much of shape-ware is optional, but some is required; e.g. a strapless or backless bra. If there is one thing that I hate, it’s seeing a woman wear an open back dress with a regular bra. It’s a complete crash (please don’t do it). If you’re going to put it on, know what, and how you are going to wear it; and then wear it with confidence.

 

If this is your first time wearing an open back dress I would suggest you stay away from “the sexy dresses, the cocktail dresses, and the clubbing dresses.” I think that for the first timer the “weeknight dress” would be the best choice. It will give you the glamour of an open back while allowing you to adjust to the new type of outfit.
