What is a “clubbing” open back dress?

 

You will find that I have many similarities in the way that I describe a sexy dress and a clubbing dress. The truth is that many times they are one in the same. Some of their similarities are:

 

• First, a clubbing dress can be as long as a knee length dress to as short as a mini dress. A mini dress is one that finishes higher than mid-thigh.

 

• Second, the dress may be made of a variety of materials, but for the best comfort you should use a soft material like the one found with most sexy dresses (e.g. polyester, nylon, spandex).

 

• Last, the clubbing dress should fit to your body. A good example of a fitted dress is the type of dress called a bodycon dress. The bodycon dresses are made to hug your body and highlight your womanly figure. But, there are many other types of dresses (e.g. empire waist dresses, wrap dresses, baby doll dresses) that will also be great clubbing dresses.

 

• Now, the two things that I look for the most in a clubbing dress are its stability and its coolness. The reason I call it a clubbing dress is because you intend to go “clubbing” in it; and clubbing means dancing and sweating. So, I like to find dresses that will remain in place and won’t budge with lots of movement or by someone getting caught on it while they walk by. Now in regards to the coolness, well, no one likes to be dripping sweat just because of their outfit. So, you want your dress to keep you cool while you are having the time of your life. The types of clothing that will keep you cool are silk, spandex, linen, cotton, and rayon.

 

Note: polyester is actually very warm.

 

 

 

 

I want guys and my girl friends to complement the way I look.

If what you are looking for is affirmations from your friends then you are in luck. Most women who wear open back dresses are known to receive at least one compliment because these are elegant dresses. Now, just remember that the compliment if for how you look in the dress and not the dress. So make sure that all of your other aspects are also looking great (e.g. your hair, your shoes, your make-up).

When you take the time to look good people will notice your effort and usually give you a compliment. Another way to get compliments is to ask for one. There is no shame in asking, “How do I look?” It’s actually a great way to get others opinions and maybe have them find something that you didn’t see while getting ready. This gives the people around you them the opportunity to give you the compliment you desire.

Now, there are times when people give us compliments and we don’t even realize that they were complimenting us. So, the trick is to know how to receive the compliment so that in the future the people around are more apt to continue complimenting you. I want to impress a guy I’m currently dating.

 

So, you’re dating a guy and things are going well. This weekend he wants you to go with him to the club because some of his friends are planning to go. Now, you haven’t met these friends of his, but you want to impress him and his friends. So… WHAT DO YOU WEAR?!?!

 

An open back dress is a great choice. The bigger question is, knowing how to pick the right one. For this occasion I would suggest to stay away from the “sexy dresses.” The sexy dress will definitely impress the guy you are dating but it will also impress every other guy, which make bring up jealousy a bit early in the relationship. Not to mention that your guy’s friends might think you are a bit promiscuous.

I would also suggest that you stay away from the “cocktail dresses,” unless you are attending an actual cocktail party or semi formal dinner.

 

The reason for not going with the cocktail dress is that most cocktail dresses are meant for low action (aka, non-dancing) occasions. Understanding that your date wants to go to a club, I would suggest the two types of dresses that may allow more movement while keeping the appeal of an open back dress. The best two types of dresses for this occasion are the “clubbing dresses” or better known as the “bodycon dresses” and the “weeknight dresses.” These dresses will wow your date and his friends, while giving you the sensual look with the open back and keeping you comfortable on the dance floor.

 

Last, I would also suggest staying away from the “formal dresses” and the “picnic dresses,” unless you are attending an event that would deem otherwise (e.g. a formal dinner or club at the beach).
